Manual measurements are extremely inaccurate in that they completely depend on the exact measurement definitions, the slant-angle of the cross-section in which the circumferences (or linear measurements) are taken, and how tight or loose the tape-measure is pulled by hand during the manual measurements. In addition, for 3D foot scanning, every time you step on the floor, the arches of your feet collapse differently, so different that it would lead to a muscle profile change of more than a few millimeters. At NetVirta, our engineering team has rigorous metrology training from MIT and 8 years of experience in 3D metrology practices in the medical, sports, and fashion industries.
