NetVirta’s Verifyt® 3D Scanning App Has Provided State-of-the-Art Fitting Solution for Nearly 50,000 Football Players Across All Levels
[BOSTON, November 15, 2023] - NetVirta, the world's leading fit technology provider for medical, fashion retail, and sports equipment brands, and Riddell, the world’s leading football helmet manufacturer, are celebrating a milestone achievement of recording nearly 50,000 player scans during the five years of their partnership.
NetVirta is the creator of Verifyt® 3D scanning and sizing solution, which is used by renowned fashion brands to provide accurate size recommendations for a range of hard-to-fit product categories, including intimates and footwear.
Riddell uses the Verifyt app to scan players’ heads for its Tru-Fit and Precision-Fit line of helmets (notably Axiom and SpeedFlex Precision), a process that takes less than a minute and can be performed with most mobile devices. After Riddell captures the detailed size and surface of an athlete’s head using Verifyt mobile 3D scanning technology, the 3D files are imported and analyzed for Riddell’s engineering team to craft a completely personalized helmet liner. As a result of Verifyt’s mobility and convenience, more players have access to custom-fit helmets than ever before. Riddell was the first in the sports equipment industry to utilize mobile 3D scanning technology for helmet fitting and remains the leading innovator in the industry today.
“The use of NetVirta’s Verifyt 3D scanning technology has given us the opportunity to optimize how we tailor equipment to meet each athlete’s unique needs for the playing field,” said Thad Ide, Riddell’s Executive Vice President of Research & Product Development. “This technology not only enhances the performance and protective capabilities of the helmet, but also helps ensure elite-level head protection is available to the broader football market.”
NetVirta and Riddell, through the Verifyt app, have steadily expanded the reach of the program since the start of their partnership.
Currently, Riddell is using the Verifyt app to support all 32 NFL clubs. In addition, Verifyt is utilized in college football programs, including all ACC, SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, and Pac-12 Conference schools. The ease of use and accuracy of the app have made it an essential asset for both large and small institutions, and Riddell is actively expanding this offering to more college and high school teams across the country.
“We are honored to work with such an esteemed market leader as Riddell,” says NetVirta CEO & Co-Founder Jeff Chen. “They are one of the most technologically advanced companies in the sporting goods industry, and we look forward to innovating together for years to come.”
